Donald Waters brings an impressive 38 years of claims experience to Allied American USA. Donald joined the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration (FIMA) and held various roles until his retirement in December 2021 from his position as Claims, Branch Chief, Department of Homeland Security (FEMA).
During his tenure at FEMA his responsibilities included providing claims direction to WYO companies and NFIP Direct on complex claims and policy issues; serving as a subject-matter expert for NFIP claims presentations for flood adjusters; acting as liaison, subject-matter expert, and advisor to state Departments of Insurance and NFIP; and, supporting FEMA’s Joint Field Offices (JFO) during catastrophic events to address flood insurance claims issues and represent FEMA, FIMA (federal insurance) at community outreach meetings, and town hall meetings.
Additionally, Donald is a skilled trainer and mentor for insurance examiners on NFIP issues and topics, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY at Binghamton, in Binghamton, NY.
