James Maclean is a passionate leader in the beef industry in Australia. He has 30 years’ experience in the beef industry – incorporating cattle breeding through to beef processing.
James’ initial experience in the agricultural sector was gained growing up on a feedlot, seed stock and cropping operation on the Darling Downs, Queensland. Since this period, extensive experience was gained at senior levels in lot feeding and marketing with major commercial trading companies, lot feeders and the banking sector.
James has a deep understanding of the modern Australian beef industry and the major drivers for successful beef value chains. Beyond beef cattle, James has experience in the operation and assessment of other rural businesses and has overseen both grazing and cropping (dry land and irrigated) operations.
James holds Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University in Sydney and a Diploma in Farm Management from Marcus Oldham College in Geelong, Victoria.
