Ahmed holds a Master of Islamic Finance Practice from the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance, a Master of Commerce in Economics, Trade and Development from the University of Wollongong, and a Bachelor of Business & Graduate Diploma in Education in Economics & Teaching from La Trobe University.
