Luke Barnett has extensive experience in the insurance industry, working in various roles over the years. Luke started their career at QBE Insurance as a Business Risk Manager from September 2001 to September 2003. Later, they joined Lloyd's of London as a Franchise Executive, responsible for syndicate business plan reviews, underwriting performance reviews, and acting as the contact point between Lloyd's and syndicates. Luke then moved to Asta Managing Agency Ltd., where they served as an Operations and Compliance Director and played a significant role in transforming the company into a leading business for insurance start-ups in the Lloyd's market. Luke helped create and manage Lloyd's syndicates for various well-known companies. After their tenure at Asta, Luke worked as a Compliance & Operations Consultant at Decandia Consulting Limited before joining Allied World in 2015. At Allied World, they initially worked as the Head of Underwriting Operations for Allied World Europe (AWE) and Syndicate 2232, focusing on integrating processes and preparing for a digital future. More recently, they have taken on the role of Chief Operating Officer Europe, driving change and standardizing operations across the company.
Luke Barnett completed the LMA Leadership Programme in Organizational Leadership at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford in 2016. Prior to that, they pursued a BSC in Economics from Queen Mary University of London, from 1985 to 1988.
