Allies for Every Child
Socorro "Coco" Pacheco, MLIS, currently serves as the Children’s Supervising Librarian at Downey City Library, a position held since August 2023. Simultaneously, Coco operates as the Project Manager and Early Education Family & Community Manager at Allies for Every Child, leading team supervision, community outreach, and program administration since August 2021. Prior experience includes roles such as Employment Coordinator Assistant and OC CalWORKs Case Manager/Housing Navigator at 1736 Family Crisis Center, along with library support at LA County Library. Coco's background also features independent instruction in early childhood development and community health coordination. Educational credentials include a Master of Library & Information Science focused on Children's Librarianship from San Jose State University, along with a BA in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach, and an AA in Psychology from Cerritos College.

At Allies for Every Child, we provide thousands of at-risk children and their families with critical, high-quality early education programs, family strengthening interventions for families at-risk of losing their children, foster care and adoption services, and a range of vital, integrated services, such as disabilities screenings/advocacy, nutrition, parenting classes, counseling, bilingual domestic violence classes, dental and vision screenings, and pediatric health consultations.
