Jessica Petersson has a diverse work experience in the field of bioscience and immunology. Jessica started their career at Örebro University and Örebro University Hospital, where they worked on a research project focused on evaluating the role of a vitamin B6 biosynthesis enzyme in response to ultraviolet-B radiation. Jessica performed Western blot and immunohistochemical staining for this project.
Afterward, Jessica worked at Malmö Hospital on a lung cancer project, where they obtained clinical material from bronchoscopy and used a technique called TRAP in situ to measure telomerase activity. Jessica also performed TRAP in situ and immunocytochemical staining for this project.
Jessica then moved to Lund University, where they served as a PhD student and later as a Research Scientist in the Department of Haematology. Their PhD project focused on studying the function of the interferon-inducible p53-target gene TRIM22. Their studies allowed their to grow as a researcher at the intersection of cancer and immunology.
Subsequently, Jessica worked as a Guest Researcher at the MRC Human Genetics Unit at the Western General Hospital. Jessica also joined Alligator Bioscience AB as a Research Scientist, Senior Scientist, and Scientist, contributing to their scientific research and development.
Throughout their career, Jessica has gained extensive laboratory experience, manuscript writing skills, and expertise in various techniques, including Western blot, immunohistochemical staining, TRAP in situ, and immunocytochemical staining.
Jessica Petersson completed their education with a PhD in Experimental Haematology from Lund University in 2011. Prior to that, they obtained their MSc in Molecular Biology from Lund University in the years 2002 to 2006. In 2001, Jessica attended Lund University and pursued studies in Pedagogy A. Jessica also had a brief academic experience in 2000, studying English B at the University of Sussex and Gothenburgh University. Their education history also includes a year at Blekinge Institute of Technology in 1999, where they studied English A.
