Matthías Thórólfsson has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Matthías was also responsible for ICH stability testing and reporting.

In 2016, Matthías joined Alligator Bioscience AB as a Principal Scientist, and their current role and responsibilities are unspecified.

Matthías Thórólfsson obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry from Háskóli Íslands between 1991 and 1995. Matthías then pursued further education at the University of Bergen (UiB) where they completed a Cand. Scient. degree in Biochemistry from 1996 to 1998. Subsequently, they continued their studies at UiB and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biophysics from 2000 to 2003.
