Dan Stigers has a diverse work experience in various companies and academic institutions. Dan started their career as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, working on the chemical modification of poly(hydroxyalkanoate)s for potential tissue scaffolds. Dan then pursued a Graduate Student role at the University of New Hampshire, focusing on the synthesis and characterization of cross-bridged tetraazamacrocyles for PET imaging agents.
After that, Dan worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Australian National University, where they conducted research on biosynthetic incorporation of functional analogues of aliphatic amino acids for protein synthesis, achieving high levels of incorporation and catalytic activity.
Dan's industry experience began at Cytec as a Research Chemist before moving on to a Project Leader role. Dan then joined CYTEC INDUSTRIES as a Group Leader in Alumina R&D, followed by a position as an R&I Group Leader at Cytec Solvay Group for Alumina Processing Chemicals. Later, at Solvay, they held the role of Technology Director for Mining Solutions Research before becoming the Technology Director for Mining Solutions. Dan joined Allonnia as the Vice President of Business Development - Mining in 2023.
Throughout their career, Dan has demonstrated expertise in research, development, and leadership roles in the fields of chemistry, materials science, and mining solutions.
Dan Stigers earned their PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of New Hampshire, where they attended from 2003 to 2008. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, attending from 1998 to 2003. Dan'shigh school education was completed at Hamden Hall Country Day School.
