Shaumik Lenka

Shaumik Lenka is a materials design and new product development professional with extensive experience in the metallurgical field. Currently at Alloyed since December 2021, Shaumik previously served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of Sheffield, focusing on the tribological behaviors of contact surfaces. Educational background includes a PhD in Materials Science and Metallurgy from the University of Cambridge, where the thesis centered on the development of bainitic steel with exceptional properties. Prior positions include Principal Researcher at Tata Steel, managing significant projects that led to the commercialization of new products, and various research roles that emphasized high-strength steel development and thermodynamic analysis. Early research internships were completed at institutions such as Georgia Institute of Technology and National Metallurgical Laboratory, further contributing to a solid foundation in materials science.
