Matt Beard

Matt Beard has extensive work experience in the field of cyber security. Matt currently holds the position of Director of Cyber Security at AllPoints Fibre since September 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Jurassic Fibre as the Director of Cyber Security from July 2023 to September 2023, and as the Head of Cyber Security from January 2023 to July 2023. Matt also worked at Vodafone, where they held several roles including Cyber Regulatory and Technical Assurance Lead from October 2021 to January 2023, Cyber Security Assurance Lead from April 2020 to October 2021, and Cyber Assurance Manager from February 2020 to April 2020. Before joining Vodafone, they served as a Security Manager at Raytheon UK from February 2019 to February 2020, and at L3Harris Technologies as a Security Manager from December 2018 to February 2019, and as a Security Controller from November 2017 to December 2018. Matt also has experience working in the UK Civil Service as the Head of Physical Security and Protective Assurance from May 2016 to November 2017. Matt began their career in the UK Ministry of Defence, where they held the positions of Police Sergeant, Operational Firearms Commander, Firearms Tactical Advisor from August 2006 to May 2016, and Police Officer and Authorised Firearms Officer from August 2004 to August 2006.

Matt Beard obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and Cyber Security from Abertay University from 2023 to 2025. Additionally, they hold a certification in Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals from Microsoft, obtained in 2022.
