Ebrima Jaw is currently a PHD Candidate at the University of Twente, where they are investigating Internet path security challenges and providing solutions, specifically focusing on BGP hijacking. Prior to their current role, Ebrima served as the President of allSTEAM from 2016 onwards. Additionally, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of The Gambia, mentoring students, reviewing lab exercises, conducting tutorials, and assisting with various IT domains. Ebrima also served as the Acting Faculty Officer, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Department of Information Technology and Communication. Ebrima's experience includes a Research Assistantship at Guizhou University, where they investigated information and network security challenges on emerging technologies and implemented network security framework solutions using machine learning. Ebrima has also worked as an Adjunct Lecturer at both Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI) and Suna Institution of Science and Technology, teaching various IT programs and developing/updating curriculum.
Ebrima Jaw completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Information Systems at the University of The Gambia from 2011 to 2015, graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors. Ebrima then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computer Science and Technology with a specialization in Information and Network Security at Guizhou University, from 2019 to 2022. In addition to their formal education, Ebrima obtained a Google Cybersecurity Certificate from Coursera in 2023.
