Daniel Catania

Daniel Catania has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as a Unit Manager at Alludo since September 2022. In this role, they lead and collaborates with the API Team within Parallels RAS. Daniel also works with the product and development managers to create and improve APIs, specifically for PowerShell, REST, and SignalR.

Prior to their current role, Daniel founded their own company called DC Digital Consultancy in January 2021. At DC Digital Consultancy, they provided digital services, computer troubleshooting, and repairs to clients. Daniel also liaised with clients to understand their projects and needs.

Before starting their business, Daniel had various roles at Corel Corporation (now Alludo) from 2018 to 2022. Daniel started as a Junior Software Developer, where they developed APIs for PowerShell, REST, and SignalR. Daniel then progressed to become a Software Developer, Senior Software Developer, and eventually a Unit Manager. In these roles, they collaborated with managers and other developers to create and improve APIs, as well as mentored interns within the API team.

Daniel's earlier work experience includes being a Junior Web Developer at Laby Technologies LTD from 2018 to 2019 and a Consulting Intern at Gartner in 2019.

Additionally, they worked part-time at Aviaserve Ltd as a Ramp Dispatch & G.A. Agent from 2017 to 2019, and as a Ramp Handler/Driver from 2016 to 2017. Daniel also briefly worked at BMIT as a Data Center Technician in 2018.

During their academic years, Daniel gained experience as an IT Intern at The Scout Association of Malta in 2017, a Development Intern at Ixaris in 2016, and a Junior Software Programmer at HOB Software Ltd from 2015 to 2016.

Daniel Catania's education history begins in 2007 when they started attending De La Salle College Malta - Secondary School. Daniel completed their Secondary Education Certificate in Ordinary Level Studies in 2012. From 2012 to 2014, Daniel then attended De La Salle College Malta - Sixth Form, where they obtained a Matriculation Certificate in Pure Mathematics & Computing.

In 2014, Daniel enrolled at the University of Malta and pursued a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Computing Science, which they completed in 2017. Continuing their education, they then pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at the University of Malta from 2017 to 2019.

In addition to their formal education, Daniel obtained certifications in various computer skills. Daniel achieved an ECDL Core certification at MQF Level 3, as well as an ECDL Advanced & ECDL Expert certification at MQF Level 4.
