ALONE support older people to age at home. We provide direct, frontline services to people aged 60 and over, through support coordination, support and befriending, housing with support, and the application of assistive technology. We have a network of staff and more than 3,000 volunteers across the country We have been awarded Quality Marks from Volunteer Ireland, the ISO, the Charities Regulator and the Housing Regulatory Standard.

We are now recruiting a Community, Innovation & Enterprise Manager

Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to the achievement of ALONE’s vision and strategic goals. The Community, Innovation & Enterprise Manager will oversee the activities of the Community, Innovation & Enterprise Team and will be responsible for Department Management, Team Management, Project Management, Strategic Direction of the Department and implementation of ALONE Policy & Procedures and daily Community, Innovation and Enterprise operations.

You will report directly to the Head of Community, Innovation & Enterprise.

Responsibilities 

  • Direct the effort and activities of the CIE Team towards a common CIE Department Goals& ALONE Strategic objectives.
  • Organise the department to support optimal engagement – decision making, time management and performance management.
  • Manage resources towards future programming and Ensure compliance with the Strategic Plan, Business Plan, Management systems and Business practices.
  • Management of the CIE Team including adherence to the administrative management principles and practices and compliance with all internal, board, and Charities Regulatory requirements.
  • Apply and Implement the ALONE systems across the CIE department
  • Manage External Relationships with good emotional intelligence
  • Build a culture of maintaining visibility on the status of all projects and activities to demonstrate continual improvement and lessons learned across all management systems and business activities.​
  • Oversee and measure the performance of individuals and the team.
  • Prepare reports for senior leadership and board level​.
  • Any other duties within the general requirements of the above that may be assigned.

Essential Skills & Experience 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience at a management level in a complex service driven organisation.
  • Ability to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, discretion, and respect.
  • Proven track record of leading project teams with high-level communication skills both written and oral with the ability to influence discussions towards outcomes and responsibility of agreed action
  • Minimum of 3-year employee management experience, including support and performance management of individuals and people managers.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in presenting information to a variety of stakeholders (internally and externally),
  • The ability to network and negotiate effectively with individuals and groups, both internally and externally.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and experience or leading innovation.
  • A track record of excellent internal and external stakeholder management
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for document creation, data analysis, and communication.
  • Generate and analyse reports to provide insights and support decision-making.
  • A clean driver’s license and own car is mandatory.
