ALONE supports older people to age at home. We provide direct, frontline services to people aged 60 and over, through support coordination, support and befriending, housing with support, and the application of assistive technology. We have a network of staff and more than 3,000 volunteers across the country.  We have been awarded Quality Marks from Volunteer Ireland, the ISO, the Charities Regulator and the Housing Regulatory Standard.

We are now recruiting a HR Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior HR Generalist looking to advance their career and join one of the most important charities in Ireland in a period when the need for our services has never been greater.  By participating, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to positively influence the lives of many older people in Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure HR initiatives and projects align with budgetary constraints and organizational priorities.

  • Oversee achievement of HR objectives and KPIs, implementing strategies for performance and continuous improvement.

  • Act as a trusted advisor on HR matters, leading investigations into employee complaints and grievances.

  • Line manage the HR team, setting clear objectives and conducting regular one-to-one/team meetings.

  • Monitor performance across the organization, providing advice on best practices.

  • Conduct timely reviews of compensation and benefits, proposing adjustments as necessary.

  • Support communication strategy related to terms and conditions.

  • Ensure adherence to annual salary and benefits policy.

  • Monitor and fully utilize HR systems, providing training and support.

  • Lead and drive strategic HR projects and initiatives, managing and supporting organizational events.

  • Conduct training needs analysis and monitor the annual training and development plan.

  • Facilitate workshops on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Stay updated with employment laws, maintaining accurate and confidential employee records.

  • Prepare and submit required HR reports and documentation.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures as needed.

  • Ensure payroll accuracy and timeliness, addressing issues promptly and reviewing processes for improvement.

  • Stay updated on payroll regulations and best practices.

  • Prepare and present regular HR metrics and reports to senior management.

  • Develop and maintain HR analytics for strategic decision-making.

  • Generate ad-hoc reports for management or HR-related audits.

Essential Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • 3 years + experience in a similar role

  • CIPD qualification (level 5) or established work-related experience at HRA level

  • Diploma/Degree in HR or related field

  • Payroll knowledge and experience essential

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail

  • Strategic thinker and communicator who can build strong relationships with all levels of employees or stakeholders

  • Experience implementing new HR initiatives.
