Michael Gans is the Director of Cultural Competence and PCTI Care at Alpert Jewish Family & Children's Service, where Michael trains organizations to be culturally competent, person-centered, and trauma-informed when working with Holocaust survivors and their families. Additionally, Michael is a PHD Candidate in Holocaust Studies at the University of Haifa. With extensive experience as a Counsellor, Therapist, and Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellor, Michael has a strong background in Evidence-Based Practice, Narrative Therapy, CBT, and ACT. As the Program Director of the I-witness Holocaust Field School, Michael has provided students with a deeper understanding of various forms of discrimination and stigmatization. Michael holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education and Holocaust and Related Studies, as well as a MA in Germanic Studies from the University of Victoria.
