Carl Bilgrien

Carl Bilgrien has a strong background in research and development, with over 30 years of experience in specialty chemicals, materials, and formulated products. Carl has held various leadership roles throughout their career, including Vice President of R&D at Alpha Assembly Solutions, Chief Technology Officer at Independent, and Chief Technology Officer at Arizona Chemical. Carl has also served as Vice President of R&D at WR Grace and Aspen Aerogels. Carl has extensive experience in product development, portfolio management, and driving innovation. Prior to these roles, Carl worked at Dow Corning Corporation in various positions, including Business Development Manager, European Commercial Manager, and Global Technology Manager. Carl is a strategic thinker and has a proven track record in leading and aligning R&D teams to business objectives.

Carl Bilgrien earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Michigan State University, specifically from the Lyman Briggs College, where they studied from 1977 to 1981. Carl later pursued their higher education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1981 to 1982, specializing in Inorganic Chemistry. Finally, they obtained their PhD in Chemistry from the University of Florida, where they attended from 1982 to 1986.
