David McGraw, P.E. has over 14 years of work experience in the mining industry. David started their career as an Engineering Intern at Consol Energy, where they gained hands-on experience in underground coal mining. After that, they worked at NIOSH as a Lab Tech. In 2008, they joined Contura Energy as a Mine Engineer, where they collaborated with production personnel to develop mine plans and performed various engineering duties. David recently joined Alpha Metallurgical Resources as Chief Engineer in February 2020.

David McGraw, P.E. obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University, where they were enrolled from 2001 to 2007. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mining and Mineral Engineering at West Virginia University, completing their studies in 2008.

In addition to their academic achievements, McGraw holds several certifications. David obtained the Remote Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in March 2019. In January 2019, they obtained the Mine Foreman (Surface) certification from the state of West Virginia. Furthermore, McGraw has been a Registered Professional Engineer in West Virginia since October 2012.
