Matt Franklin Cep

Matt Franklin, CEP, PHR has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Matt is currently serving as the Assistant Vice President, HR & Compensation at Alpha Metallurgical Resources, where they previously held the role of Senior Director, HR & Compensation. Prior to this, they worked at Eastman Chemical Company as an HR Manager for IT & Finance, as well as an Executive Compensation Analyst, where they provided expertise and leadership on aspects of equity compensation for management and executives. Before joining Eastman Chemical Company, they worked at Alpha Natural Resources as a Senior Accountant in the Accounting Systems department and as an Internal Auditor. Matt also worked as an Internal Auditor at Penn Virginia Corporation. Earlier in their career, they held the role of Accounting Intern at First Tennessee Human Resource Agency and served as a Financial Representative Intern at Northwestern Mutual.

Matt Franklin, CEP, PHR pursued higher education with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Tennessee Technological University, which they completed between 2010 and 2013. Their undergraduate studies were undertaken at East Tennessee State University from 2005 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a major in Accounting and a minor in Finance.

In addition to their academic achievements, Matt Franklin also holds professional certifications. In August 2018, they obtained the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI). Furthermore, they earned the Certified Equity Professional (CEP) certification from Santa Clara University in June 2017.
