Dominik Campanella

Dominik Campanella is an experienced professional with a diverse range of roles in the fields of circular construction, sustainable materials, and digital documentation. Dominik is the Co-Founder and CEO of Concular, a leading digital ecosystem for circular building. In this role, they have successfully digitized over 250 buildings in Germany and implemented a scalable model for the digitalization of construction materials.

Dominik is also the Co-Founder and CEO of restado.de, the largest marketplace for reclaimed building materials in Europe, with over 1 million active listings.

Additionally, they have contributed to the field of circular construction as a member of the expert group for circular construction at the DGNB German Sustainable Building Council. Dominik has been involved in the development of initiatives such as the Gebäuderessourcenpass and Zirkularitätsbewertungen.

Dominik has further demonstrated their expertise in the digital documentation of materials through their role as the initiator and consortium leader of DIN SPEC 91484 at the DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung. This standardizes the digital documentation of materials in existing buildings prior to renovation or demolition, facilitating the assessment of their reuse potential.

Their commitment to circular economy principles extends to their role as a member of the Leadership Group of the EU Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform at the European Economic and Social Committee. Dominik is also a member of the Technical Working Group for Circularity at BREEAM.

Prior to their involvement in the construction industry, Dominik worked at Google as a Quantitative User Experience Researcher and Data Scientist. Dominik also achieved recognition at Harvard University, winning the Harvard International Finance Competition in 2016 and finishing as the runner-up in 2018.

Dominik Campanella has a comprehensive education history that spans several prestigious institutions. Dominik began their academic journey at the University of Mannheim in 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Wirtschaftsinformatik in 2015. Subsequently, they enrolled at HEC Paris from 2015 to 2018, during which they earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Master in Management (Grande Ecole) / Strategic Management. Alongside their studies at HEC Paris, Dominik pursued further education at the University of Mannheim, completing a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Business Informatics - Data and Web Science from 2015 to 2017. In 2018, they attended the University of Oxford for the Oxford and Aspen Institute Seminar for Leadership, further enhancing their knowledge and skills.
