Mitch Raponi

Chief Scientific Officer at Alphina Therapeutics

Mitch Raponi has extensive work experience in the field of biomarkers and translational research. Mitch currently serves as the Chief Scientific Officer at Alphina Therapeutics since May 2021. Prior to that, they worked at BeiGene as the Vice President of Biomarkers & Translational Research from March 2017 to May 2021.

Mitch also held positions at Clovis Oncology as the Vice President of Molecular Diagnostics from January 2010 to March 2017, and at Johnson & Johnson as the Director of Oncology Biomarkers from January 2008 to January 2010.

Their earlier roles include being a Principal Research Scientist at Centocor, where they initiated the platform technology team and managed genomic-based studies to support clinical trials. Mitch has also worked as a Research Manager at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, managing a biomarker lab and collaborating with technology groups and compound development teams. Mitch Raponi started their career as a Senior Scientist at Veridex LLC, leading pharmacogenomic gene expression studies for anti-cancer compounds, and as a Post-Doctoral Scientist at Johnson and Johnson Research Pty Ltd and Johnson & Johnson Research.

Mitch Raponi completed their education at UNSW, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (First class Honors) from 1991 to 1995. Later, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics from UNSW between 1997 and 2000.
