Mitchell Gold M.D. has a diverse work experience in the field of biotechnology and healthcare. In 1995, they served as the President and CEO of Elixis for five years. Following this, they joined Data Critical in 2000 as the VP of Business Development. In 2001, they became the President and CEO of Dendreon, where they held the position for over a decade until 2012. During this time, they also served as the Chairman of the Board for Dendreon Corporation from 2012 to 2013. In 2012, they founded Alpine Biosciences and served as the Founder and Chairman until 2014. Mitchell Gold continued their entrepreneurial endeavors by becoming the Managing Partner of Alpine BioVentures in 2013. Currently, they serve as the Co-founder, Executive Chairman, and CEO of Alpine Immune Sciences since 2015.

Mitchell Gold obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1985 to 1989. Mitchell then pursued their medical education at Rush Medical College of Rush University Medical Center, where they earned their MD degree from 1989 to 1993. Following this, Mitchell Gold undertook further specialization in Urology at the University of Washington - School of Medicine from 1993 to 1998.
