Leif Christensen

Leif Christensen has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. In 1992, they began their career as a Commissioned Officer in the US Army, serving until 2006. Leif then transitioned into the mining industry, working as a Metallurgist for Teck Resources Limited from 2007 to 2009. Leif then joined Sumitomo Metal Mining POGO LLC, where they served as a Capital Project Coordinator from 2009 to 2012, and later as a General Foreman from 2012 to 2017. Leif also attended AVTEC, Alaska's Institute of Technology, as a student from 2017 to 2018.

Leif then moved on to Preferred, where they worked as a Maintenance Manager from 2018 to 2021. During this time, they also held various roles at Signal Peak Silica LLC, including Maintenance Manager (2019-2021), Project Support Coordinator (2021), Project Manager (2022), and Plant Manager (2022). Currently, Leif holds the position of Director of Operations at Alpine Silica since December 2022.

Leif Christensen has a diverse education history. Leif obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Distributive Science with a focus on Geology from Austin Peay State University, graduating between 1993 and 1997. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Geology/Geophysics from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, completing it in 2002.

In 2017 and 2018, Leif Christensen further expanded their knowledge and skills by attending AVTEC, Alaska's Institute of Technology. There, they studied Industrial Electronics Technology/Technician, though no degree was specified.

Additionally, Leif Christensen has acquired various certifications to complement their education. In 2018, they completed the Lean Six Sigma Foundations course through LinkedIn. More recently, in April 2021, they obtained a certification in Unconscious Bias also from LinkedIn.
