Currently serving as the Director General of Alsea Europa since August 2022, Jose Luis oversees a diverse brand portfolio across multiple countries including Spain, Portugal, France, and soon Belgium. Previously, as the Director General at Starbucks Mexico from January 2019 to August 2022, Jose Luis led nearly 9,000 partners in delivering exceptional service to over 8 million customers monthly. Jose Luis also held key roles such as Country Manager of Alsea Chile and Managing Director of Starbucks Coffee Chile. With a solid foundation in financial management as demonstrated during their tenure as CFO at Telepizza Mexico and Canal 7 del Atlántico, alongside years of experience in operational leadership across several regions including Poland and Chile, Jose Luis Portela combines strategic insight with a proven track record of driving growth and managing successful teams. Educational qualifications include a degree in Economics and Business Administration from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a Business Administration program at Universidad de los Andes.
