Richard Makgoale

Richard Makgoale is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as the AMECA Regional NDT Expert at Alstom since March 2023, where coordination of NDT activities and the development of procedures and experts for Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia is key. Prior to this role, Richard worked at Transnet Freight Rail from May 2012 to March 2023, contributing as a Welding Engineer involved in international welding technology, quality management systems, and technical audits, along with serving as a Non-Destructive Testing Specialist and Metallurgist. Additionally, Richard has experience reviewing and assessing engineering candidates for the Engineering Council of South Africa and has held a part-time position in retail management at Edcon. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Engineering/Industrial Management and a Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, both from Tshwane University of Technology.
