Michael Lazzara began their work experience in 1990 at Michigan CAT, where they started as a management trainee and later held various roles such as shop supervisor, parts and service territory manager, and account representative sales. In 2005, they became the product support sales manager at Michigan CAT, overseeing parts and service marketing initiatives for Construction, On-Highway, and Electric Power businesses. Michael also managed various areas such as condition monitoring, parts tracking sales opportunities, and customer support agreements. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Alta Equipment Company as the regional director of product support.
Michael Lazzara has a diverse education history. Michael attended Ferris State University, where they obtained an Associate of Automotive Technology degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Automotive & Heavy Equipment Technology. In 1991, they also received a certificate in Management Leadership from the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
Additionally, Lazzara pursued various certifications throughout their career. In 2007, they completed the Leadership Management Program "Flagship" at Caterpillar Inc. Michael also acquired a certificate in Executive Leadership & Management from the University of Notre Dame - Mendoza College of Business in 2009 and a certificate in Financial Management from Cornell University in 2011. Lazzara further enhanced their leadership skills by participating in the Feature Leaders Program at the Michigan Transportation Infrastructure Association in 2009.
Furthermore, Lazzara has obtained several certifications related to performance management and coaching. Michael completed the "Delegating With Purpose Coaching for Peak Performance" program from Development Dimensions International (DDI) in 2014. In 2013, they attained certifications in "Setting Performance Expectations & reviewing Performance Progress" and "maximizing Performance" from DDI. Lazzara also received additional certifications in Six Sigma Red, Green, and DMAIC in 2012 and from the BELL Leadership Institute, led by Dr. Gerald D. Bell, in 2012.
