Raul Elnitiarta

Raul Elnitiarta has a diverse range of work experience in database administration and software engineering. Raul recently worked as a Senior Database Administrator at AltaMed Health Services starting in July 2020. Prior to that, they served as an R&D DBA at OrangeShine.com from July 2019 to July 2020.

Between 2018 and 2019, Raul held the position of Senior SQL Server DBA at Agema Technology Inc. During this time, they focused on MS SQL database administration, tuning, and a disaster recovery improvement project at Monoprice Inc. Raul also worked on performance tuning, replication, backup strategies, reporting, and data integration.

From 2016 to 2018, Raul worked at Symantec and held the role of Principal DBA in both Cloud Enablement Services and Cloud Platform Engineering DB Services. Raul led projects involving storage migration, application migration, performance monitoring, table partitioning, and data migration to various platforms such as Hive, MongoDB, and AWS.

Prior to their time as a Principal DBA, Raul served as a Senior DBA on the Global Infrastructure Services Team at Symantec from 2009 to 2013. In this role, they led a team of DBAs and storage admins, implemented various improvements to the infrastructure, trained support teams, and introduced monitoring solutions.

Earlier in their career, Raul held roles such as Operations Manager, Principal Software Engineer, and Senior Software Engineer at Symantec's Antivirus Research Automation team. Raul played a key role in the development, maintenance, and data administration of the automation system, as well as implementing best practices, 24x7 operation plans, and data mining techniques.

Before joining Symantec, Raul started their career in the field as an Intern at Symantec Antivirus Research Center, where they analyzed MS-DOS viruses and contributed to the development of detection and repair capabilities for Norton Antivirus products.

Raul Elnitiarta holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering, which they earned from UCLA.
