David Harding is a Senior Advisor to Altamont’s portfolio companies. Currently, he sits on the board of directors of Tall Tree Foods and was formerly on the board of Maxi Canada. He is helping the existing business, while more broadly identifying and assessing acquisition opportunities in the food and beverage industries.
Dave recently retired as a partner with Bain & Company (where he maintains an advisory relationship). He was with Bain for 30 years, and during that time led Bain’s work with numerous flagship clients. Dave was a founding member of Bain’s consumer products practice and in that role worked with the top executives of many of the world’s leading packaged goods companies. His work spanned strategy, operations, sales, marketing, and M&A. Dave is keenly interested in organizational effectiveness and served as a coach and mentor to his senior clients.
Dave was also the global leader of Bain’s M&A practice. Dave has co-authored 8 articles that have appeared in the Harvard Business Review on both Consumer Products and M&A issues. Dave is the co-author of Mastering the Merger, published by Harvard Business School Press, on the do’s and don’ts of successful merger management. Prior to joining Bain, David was a CPA with the public accounting firm Arthur Andersen.
David earned a B.B.A. from the University of Cincinnati, where he graduated summa cum laude, with a major in Accounting. He earned his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
