Derek Smith

Derek Smith has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the software engineering field. Derek is currently working at Altana Technologies as a Principal Software Engineer since July 2022. Before that, they were a Staff Software Engineer at Better from June 2021 to July 2022. Derek also worked at Goodway Group, where they served as an Engineering Manager from January 2019 to June 2021 and as a Lead Engineer from September 2017 to January 2019. Derek Smith attended the University of Washington from 2001 to 2003, but they did not complete a degree or specify a field of study during that time. Later, they pursued higher education at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics.
