Brett Smith

Brett Smith, MD, MPH, MBE, is a Clinical Physician Investigator at Altasciences since March 2021, previously serving as Medical Director and General Physician at Dignity Health Medical Foundation and Dignity Health from October 2018 to December 2020. Smith held the position of Public Health Medical Officer at the California Department of Public Health for a brief period in 2017 and worked as a Physician Specialist at the San Francisco Department of Public Health-Tuberculosis Clinic and Control Section from September 2015 to June 2017, where responsibilities included providing care for tuberculosis patients and supervising medical residents and fellows. Smith completed internal medicine residency at Kaiser Permanente and served as a preventive medicine resident in Japan. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and an MD from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. An undergraduate degree was obtained in Genetics from Rutgers University.
