Joseph Juan has extensive work experience starting from their role as an Academic Director at Kaibigang Pilipino in 2005. Joseph then worked as a Student Intern at San Diego County Probation in 2005, followed by Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Student roles at the University of California, San Diego from 2007-2009. In 2009, they started their Ph.D. at UCSF, where they also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Joseph worked as a Staff Research Associate I at the University of California, San Diego in 2009, investigating the role of Drosophila MTM in regulating cortical and endolysosomal functions. Joseph then interned at Genentech in 2014, followed by Scientist roles at Nurix Therapeutics from 2017-2019, where they led preclinical efforts for various programs. In 2015, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Genentech. In 2019, Juan joined D2G Oncology as Head of Cancer Biology and Director of Business Development, and later promoted to Senior Director of Business Development in 2023. At D2G Oncology, they were responsible for managing external collaborations, representing D2G Oncology strategies, identifying, evaluating, and transacting BD opportunities, and colony and study management across multiple sites.
Joseph Juan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from UC San Diego in 2007. Joseph continued their education at the University of California, San Diego, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Biology in 2009. From 2009 to 2015, they pursued a Ph.D in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of California, San Francisco.
