Michelle Roosa

Michelle Roosa, SPHR has over 20 years of experience in human resources. Michelle is currently the Vice President of Human Resources at Alter Trading, a scrap metal recycling company. In this role, they manage all aspects of HR including employee relations, compensation, benefits, labor relations, recruiting, and organizational development. Prior to this, Michelle served as the Senior Director of Human Resources at Alter Trading for nine years.

Before joining Alter Trading, Michelle worked at RockTenn, a global container board packaging company, as the Regional Human Resources Director. Michelle led three regional operations and a specialty sales team, providing guidance and coaching to resolve HR-related business problems. Michelle also served as the HR Manager at Argosy Casino, where they managed a 700-person 24/7 operation and implemented employee reward and recognition programs.

In their earlier career, Michelle held positions at Savvis, an internet and IT security provider, American Water, a global utility company, and Kinko's, a printing solutions company. At SBC Global (formerly Ameritech Cellular), Michelle was the Assistant Director of Human Resources and Regional Manager of Employee Services, responsible for HR mergers and acquisitions and supporting cross-functional operations.

Michelle Roosa, SPHR obtained a Master's in Human Resources Management from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University between 1998 and 2001. Prior to that, they received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Illinois State University, attending from 1990 to 1993.
