Sarah Browne has a diverse work experience in the field of clinical development and medical research. Sarah started their career as an Assistant Clinical Investigator at the National Institutes of Health in 2010, where they conducted clinical trials, published research papers, and provided consultation on immunodeficiencies. In 2014, they joined the FDA as a Medical Officer and later became a Senior Advisor-Clinical. Sarah worked at the FDA until 2020 when they transitioned to Altimmune, Inc. as a Senior Director of Vaccine Development. Sarah quickly rose through the ranks and became the Senior Director, Clinical Development, and ultimately the Vice President of Clinical Development in 2023.
Sarah Browne has a BA degree in Biology from Williams College, which they obtained from 1992 to 1996. Sarah later pursued their MD at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. Sarah also completed a Board Certification in Internal Medicine through the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Additionally, they achieved a Board Certification in Infectious Diseases through the Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program at the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
