Vyjayanthi (Vyjoo) Krishnan has a diverse and extensive work experience in the biotech industry. Vyjayanthi (Vyjoo) has held various roles at different companies, starting with the National Institutes of Health in 2000. At the NIH, they worked as a Virologist, conducting research on HIV host virus interactions and drug discovery. Vyjayanthi (Vyjoo)'swork led to the discovery of four drugs capable of viral activation from latency.
After their time at the NIH, they worked at Human Genome Sciences as a Scientist, where they developed and qualified potency assays for therapeutic antibodies. Vyjayanthi (Vyjoo) then joined Emergent BioSolutions as a Senior Scientist, focusing on the coordination of technology and assay transfer for a TB vaccine project.
In 2006, Krishnan joined Wellstat Biologics as a Senior Scientist and Project Lead. In this role, they had a dual focus on assay development and discovery research, specifically on oncolytic viruses.
In 2011, they moved to Intrexon Corporation as an Associate Director, specializing in cell and bioassays. Vyjayanthi (Vyjoo)'sresponsibilities included the development and validation of assays.
Vyjayanthi (Vyjoo) then joined Altimmune, Inc. in 2012 and held various roles within the company. Vyjayanthi (Vyjoo) started as an Associate Director, Research & Assay Development, and then progressed to becoming a Director, Vaccine Development, where they led GMP and process development for adenoviral vaccine production. Later, they became a Senior Director, Vaccine Development, and then a Senior Director, Product Development. Currently, they hold the position of VP, Product Development at Altimmune, Inc., where they oversee the product development process.
Throughout their career, Krishnan has demonstrated expertise in assay development, GMP manufacturing, bioassay and immunoassay development, and project leadership. Vyjayanthi (Vyjoo)'swork has been focused on vaccine and therapeutic development, particularly in the areas of virology and oncology.
Vyjayanthi (Vyjoo) Krishnan completed their B.Pharm in Pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Mumbai from 1990 to 1994. Vyjayanthi (Vyjoo) then pursued their Ph.D in Medicinal and Biological Chemistry at The University of Toledo from 1994 to 2000.
