Abigail Colmenares

Abigail Colmenares is a Research Associate III specializing in Protein and Genetic Engineering at Altius Institute for Biomedical Sciences since August 2021. Prior experience includes serving as an Undergraduate Researcher in the Wendy Thomas Lab at the University of Washington, where a yearlong research project focused on catch bond related to platelet rolling behaviors was conducted, alongside the design and execution of over 15 laboratory experiments. Abigail also held the position of Student Ambassador Lead in the MESA program, organizing workshops and industry visits, and participated in the 10th Annual PNW LSAMP Regional Conference. Early career experience includes working as a Sales Representative at MetroPCS. Abigail earned a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Washington and an Associate of Science in Biology from Highline College.
