Elmer Guzman

Elmer Guzman is a Scientist at Altos Labs since May 2022, bringing extensive research experience from previous roles as a Research Scientist at Aptitude Medical Systems and a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Santa Barbara. While at UC Santa Barbara, Elmer formalized an approach to assess neuronal coupling using multi-electrode arrays and contextualized the role of microglial miRNAs in a neurodegenerative mouse model. Previous positions include Assistant Director of the Sequencing Facility at California NanoSystems Institute and laboratory roles involving microtubules and angiogenesis in relation to Alzheimer's and cancer. Elmer's academic background includes a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology, both earned at UC Santa Barbara.
