Joe Yuan

Joe Yuan is a Graduate Student Researcher at Altos Labs since May 2023, focusing on PhD thesis research under Dr. Kun Zhang. Prior to this role, Joe completed a Graduate Student Researcher position at UC San Diego in the Integrative Genomics Lab from September 2021 to May 2023. Joe's experience includes a System Engineering Internship at MelioLabs, where responsibilities included developing pathogen identification technology and user training for data analysis tools. Previous positions include an Undergraduate Student Researcher at UC San Diego's Fraley Lab, a Cell Bio Intern at HD Biosciences, and involvement in high school research at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Joe has a Master of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from UC San Diego, expected in December 2023, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the same institution, obtained in 2021. Early academic experiences include founding membership in the Peddie School Robotics Team and obtaining a high school diploma from The Peddie School in 2017.
