Kate McCarter

Kate McCarter has over 6 years of professional experience in design and product management. In 2021, they began their current role as Head of Product for ALTR, where they manage product design, UX writing, and product management teams while collaborating with development teams to set project timelines and goals. Prior to this, they were a Senior UX/UI Designer at SolarWinds from 2016 to 2021, where they led experience design and rebranding initiatives for over 20 unique sites across the company portfolio. In 2016, they also worked as a Designer for Vitamin T. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Graphic Artist for Cloudyshark Studios, where they designed UI and digital content for mobile apps and refreshed branded assets. In 2015, they worked as a Typography Research and Designer for Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts, and in 2014 they worked as a Studio Intern and Freelance Designer for Ulcer City Publications and a Graphic Designer for StoryTrack.

Kate McCarter obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Communication Design from Washington University in St. Louis between 2011 and 2015. In 2021, they obtained two certifications: ALTR DSaaS Ready for Snowflake from ALTR Readiness Training for Snowflake (obtained in May) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) from ProHIPAA (obtained in March).
