William F. Gifford

Billy Gifford serves as CEO, Altria Group. In this role, Billy is responsible for overseeing Altria's core tobacco businesses, sales and distribution business, Consumer & Market Insights team, business analytics and the Finance and Procurement functions.

Billy was promoted to CEO in April 2020. Prior to his current position, Billy was CFO and Vice Chairman of the Board, and prior to that, her served as Senior Vice President, Strategy & Business Development. Since joining Philip Morris USA in 1994, Billy has served in numerous leadership roles in Finance, Marketing Information & Consumer Research and as President and Chief Executive Officer of PM USA. Prior to that, ​he was Vice President and Treasurer for Altria Group where he led various functions including Risk Management, Treasury Management, Benefits Investments, Corporate Finance and Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis.

Prior to joining PM USA, Billy worked at the public accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand, which currently is known as PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Billy serves on the Board of Directors of Anheuser-Busch InBev and is a Trustee to Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business​​.​​
