Dr. Bongani Andy Mabaso

Dr. Bongani Andy Mabaso serves as the Group Chief Technology Officer at Altron since February 2024. Prior to this role, Dr. Mabaso was the Chief Executive Officer at SITA SOC (Ltd) from April to December 2023. From September 2019 to April 2023, Dr. Mabaso held the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Digital and Customer Journeys at Standard Bank Group. Earlier experience includes a tenure at Transnet Engineering from February 2008 to August 2019, where Dr. Mabaso advanced from Principal Engineer - Software Design to Executive Research Manager, leading a diverse R&D team in various technology domains. Dr. Mabaso's educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Machine Ethics from the University of Pretoria, a Master of Philosophy in Inclusive Innovation from the University of Cape Town, and a BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the same institution.
