Gene W. Lee, PhD has held various positions in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry since 1993. Gene W. began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Medical School. From 1998 to 2007, they worked at Wyeth BioPharma as a Principal Research Scientist, and at Genetics Institute (Wyeth) as a Principal Scientist. Gene W. then joined PERCIVIA as Director of Cell Line Development. In 2009, they joined EMD Serono, Inc. as Senior Director/Global Head, Protein and Cell Sciences; US Site Head, Discovery/Devlpmt Technologies and Senior Director. Theirresponsibilities included manufacturing stable clone generation, USP and DSP for pre-clinical supply and research support, analytical development and characterization of candidate therapeutic proteins, and assessment of manufacturability of protein candidates. In 2021, they joined AltruBio Inc. as Chief Technical Officer and Vice President Technical Development.

Gene W. Lee, PhD obtained their PhD in Microbiology from New York Medicine Jobs in 1993. Prior to that, they obtained their BS in Biology from Carnegie Mellon University in 1988. Gene W. also attended Seoul Foreign School, though no degree was obtained.
