Ethnic Studies Department Co-chair at Altus Schools

Celia Bonilla is an experienced educator currently serving at Altus Schools since February 2020, where responsibilities include engaging students through personalized teaching strategies as an Educator, co-chairing the Ethnic Studies Department, and leading efforts to enhance the Spanish curriculum as the World Language Department Chair. Prior experience includes teaching 7th and 4th grades at Glendale Elementary School District, focusing on culturally diverse classrooms and aligning lesson plans with Common Core Standards. Celia has also contributed to international education as a Classroom Teacher in Togo, a Community Liaison Officer for the U.S. Embassy, and served in various roles with the Department of Defense Education Activity. Celia holds a Master of Arts in Elementary Education and Teaching from the University of Southern California.
