William Smart

William Smart has a robust background in both military leadership and business development. Currently serving in Mission Development at Vannevar Labs since June 2025, William also functions as a Venture Scout for Alumni Ventures, leveraging an extensive network to identify investment opportunities. Previous experience includes a role as a Military Officer in the US Army, where William held various positions, including Chief of Operations and Strategy for the 1st Multi-Domain Task Force, and Strategy & Operations Program Manager in the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne). Educational qualifications include an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BA in Economics from Bucknell University, complemented by the Business Bridge Program at The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
