Katie McGrory

Katie McGrory has a diverse work experience in the field of compliance and financial services law. Katie is currently serving as the Director of Compliance at AlTi Tiedemann Global since January 2023. Prior to this, they held the same position at Alvarium from February 2022 to January 2023. At Alvarium, they also worked as an Associate Director of Compliance from June 2021 to February 2022.

Before joining Alvarium, Katie had a significant tenure at Herbert Smith Freehills, starting in September 2016. Katie began as a Trainee Solicitor and later advanced to the position of Associate. At Herbert Smith Freehills, they specialized in financial services law and regulation, providing advisory services to various financial institutions. Katie'sareas of expertise included regulatory compliance, licensing, business structuring, outsourcing, international regulation, and M&A transactions.

Throughout their career, Katie has handled regulatory matters affecting financial institutions at different stages of their operation, including regulatory developments, implementation projects, and compliance during day-to-day business activities. Katie possesses specialized knowledge in areas such as MiFID II, Brexit, and the regulatory aspects of M&A transactions.

Katie McGrory began their education by earning their GCSE from Finham Park School in 2010. Katie then attended Finham Park Sixth Form from 2010 to 2012, where they pursued an International Baccalaureate.

In 2012, Katie enrolled at Durham University and studied there until 2015. Katie completed their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, with a focus on Law.

After completing their LLB, Katie attended BPP Law School in 2016 to pursue a Legal Practice Course.

Currently, Katie is pursuing a Master's degree in Psychology at Birkbeck, University of London, starting in 2022.
