Emily Baron has a diverse work experience spanning over various industries. Emily is currently working as the Head of Partnerships at Alvea since October 2022. Prior to that, they held the role of Director of Strategy at Gary Community Ventures from June 2021 to October 2022. Emily also co-founded COVIDCheck Colorado, where they served as the Chief Public Health Officer from May 2020 to July 2022.
Before their entrepreneurial venture, Emily worked as a Program Officer at Peterson Center on Healthcare from August 2017 to August 2019. Emily also gained experience as an Associate Program Officer at The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust, focusing on Crohn's Disease, from July 2016 to August 2017.
Emily's earlier career includes roles at The Commonwealth Fund, where they were a Senior Associate for Fellowships and Research from March 2015 to July 2016 and a Research Associate from April 2013 to March 2015. Emily began their professional journey at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center as a Patient Care Lead in GI Oncology from May 2010 to April 2012 and later took on the role of Clinical Trials Researcher in the same department from April 2012 to April 2013.
In 2009, Emily worked as a Patient Services Specialist at the American Cancer Society and briefly served as an Editorial Assistant at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.
Emily Baron completed a Master of Urban Public Health (MPH) in Policy from the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy, starting in 2012 and finishing in 2015. Prior to that, they attended Brandeis University from 2006 to 2010, where they studied Health Sciences and Health: Science, Society, and Policy, but did not receive a degree.
