Alastair Simms

Alastair Simms is a highly skilled CQV Engineer and consultant currently working at Alvotech since July 2025. Prior to this role, Simms took a professional sabbatical from October 2023 to June 2025, engaging in worldwide travel, property renovation, and surf instruction in Portugal. Simms has extensive experience in validation engineering, having worked at Teva Pharmaceuticals and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, among others, where responsibilities included performing gap analysis reviews, drafting cleaning validation studies, and coordinating validation activities. Earlier roles also included positions as a cleaning validation engineer and validation coordinator across various pharmaceutical companies, showcasing strong expertise in validation documentation and staff training. Simms holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Bath.
