Arne Hartmann is the Founder & Group CEO of amalan international, where they focus on using technology-enabled processes and data science to settle non-performing consumer loans in Southeast Asia faster and more efficiently. Arne is also a Commissioner at CekAja.com, Indonesia's leading online financial marketplace. Additionally, Hartmann serves as a Director at The Praxis Company, where they work on gamified financial literacy programs for various organizations. Arne has previous experience as an Investor & Board Member at AKABA Ltd. Design Co., as an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow at Stanford Graduate School of Business, and as a Vice President at General Atlantic. Arne also worked as an Analyst at Merrill Lynch Global Private Equity, Broadview (now JefferiesBroadview), Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman), and Siemens TTB (corporate incubator).

Arne Hartmann attended Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium Erlangen from 1986 to 1995, where they obtained their Abitur degree in English, Mathematics, History, and Chemistry. In 1992, they briefly attended Academia Iquique, where they pursued Enseñanza Media in Chile (High School) and studied Mathematics, Spanish, Chemistry, and History. Arne later enrolled at the University of Bayreuth from 1995 to 1997, where they completed their Vordiplom in Business & Economics. Arne then pursued a European Master in Management (M.Sc.) at ESCP Business School from 1998 to 2001 with the program being spread across Oxford, Madrid, and Paris. Lastly, in 2012 to 2013, they attended Stanford University Graduate School of Business and obtained their M.Sc. in General Management.
