Boyko Boev has extensive work experience in the field of compliance, data protection, and legal consultancy. Boyko is currently serving as the Head of Compliance and Data Protection Officer at AMAN since April 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Data Protection Officer at the same company from November 2020. Boyko also worked as a GDPR Project Manager at City & Guilds Group from May 2019 to April 2020. Before that, Boyko held the position of Senior Data Protection Consultant at Data Protection People Limited from January 2018 to March 2019. Boyko worked independently as an International Legal Consultant from November 2014 to December 2017. Boyko's earlier experience includes being a Senior Legal Counsel and a Legal Officer at ARTICLE 19, where they successfully managed various information rights projects and provided legal expertise in access to information, data protection, and freedom of expression. Boyko also served as a Legal Officer at OSCE ODIHR. Boyko started their career as an Attorney at Law and Member of Sofia Bar Association, specializing in criminal, employment, and administrative law. Boyko notably won nine cases against the Bulgarian government before the European Court of Human Rights. Furthermore, they worked as an In-House Counsel at the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee.
Boyko Boev obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski in 2000. Boyko then attended Columbia Law School from 2003 to 2004, where they earned a Master of Laws (LLM) degree. Prior to their higher education, they completed their secondary education at 1st English Language School from 1986 to 1992. Boyko Boev also holds several certifications in the field of privacy management and information privacy from various institutions, including IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals and APMG-International.
