Marie Brien

Associate Director Of Research And Capacity Building- Enabling Inclusion Program at Amar Seva Sangam

Marie Brien has a diverse range of experience in the field of physiotherapy. Marie began their career in 1982 at the Douglas Mental Health Institute and later worked at the Shriners Hospitals for Children and the Baffin Regional Hospital. From 1987 to 2016, they were a Physiotherapist at CHEO -- Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. In 2017, they took on roles as a Pediatric Physiotherapist with Health Volunteers Overseas and a Physiotherapist at Prince County Hospital. Since 2019, Marie has been serving as the Associate Director of Research and Capacity Building - Enabling Inclusion Program at Amar Seva Sangam, where they coordinate training programs and research projects related to early intervention for children with developmental disabilities.

Marie Brien completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from McGill University in 1982. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Human Kinetics with a focus on Motor Control from the University of Ottawa, from 2006 to 2010. In terms of additional certifications, Marie obtained their Physiotherapist certification from the Prince Edward Island College of Physiotherapists in June 2017 and from The College of Physiotherapists of Ontario in September 1987.
