Julie Jun Hoffman, MSW, is a seasoned professional in the field of social work with extensive experience in various roles. Currently serving as Community Coordinator at Amara since August 2018, Julie has developed a strong background in program development and community engagement. Prior experience includes working as a Program Specialist at CASA of Alameda County from September 2014 to March 2017, and as Assistant Director of San Francisco Programs at First Place for Youth from July 2008 to May 2014. Julie began their career as Clinical Case Work Coordinator at My Friend's Place from June 2003 to July 2008. Julie holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development from UC San Diego.

Amara is committed to positive long-term outcomes for children and families. We drive systemic change, promote healing, racial and LGBTQIA+ equity, by offering programs and services to families engaged in foster care, and to adoptees and families, post-adoption. Foster Care Services: We guide, prepare, and support foster families to ensure that every kid in foster care can be placed in a stable, loving home. Post Adoption Services: Our Post-Adoption services support Amara adoptees and their families through community-building, mentorship, education, and more. Amara welcomes youth, adults, and families into our program regardless of marital status, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, home ownership, income, or education.
