Rui Miguel Martins

Rui Miguel Martins is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in community relations, development, and journalism. Currently serving as the Coordinator of Community Relations at West Neighbourhood House since November 2022, Rui previously contributed to Haven Toronto as a Development and Social Media Assistant, focusing on grant proposals and donor database management. Rui's diverse background includes roles as a Patron Services Representative at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts, a seasonal Ticket Agent/Box Office Supervisor at the Toronto International Film Festival, and a Freelance Journalist managing a successful website on Portuguese soccer. Additional experience includes positions at Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, Discovery Channel Canada, Global Television Toronto, and ABC Cellular Inc. Rui holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from Western University and a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from York University, complemented by ongoing education at George Brown College.
